Hi Tony, thanks for the great time in Vermont. The music was great and we can't wait to go back in the fall.
It's a beautiful, traditional bed and breakfast. Big old house, nice rooms (although please don't expect The Ritz, people. It's a home with all the ups and downs of a house so if you're going to complain about a touch of dust or beds that are more than a year old, I wouldn't stay here), nice host, great big kitchen and nice breakfast spread. It's in a gorgeous and remote area of Vermont (though only like 1.5 hours from Burlington and 2.5 from Hartford) that's perfect for watching the leaves change color. At night the stars are stunning. So thick in the sky and such a change for us city folk. There's a river just below the house that's great for swimming and fly fishing (I don't fish but I do see loads of guys standing in it casting their lines). It looks like you can float down the river in tubes too. Over all, I'd say it's a great base for doing the Vermont thing. I like the local restaurant, Toziers, on route 107 too. Love the fried clam strips and it's super local so it doesn't feel like one of those Disney-style country restaurants that's there just for the tourists, you know? In any event, I've stayed here both in August 2010 and August 2011 (yes, even during that recent flood) and like it more each time I do.
